Today,I am going to discuss Homophones.
今日私は同音異義語について話していきます。
Do you know what Homophone are?
同音異義語は何か知っていますか？
Homophones are words that pronounced like another word but different in meaning, origin or spelling.
Homophones とは同音異義語です。同じような発音ですが意味や由来、スペルが違う単語です。
Homophones can be confusing to kids and adults too.So,here’s a refresher.
これらは子供、もちろん大人にとっても紛らわしいものです。なのでここで学習しましょう。

このビデオで、とてもややこしい同音異義語の例を1つ挙げてみようと思います。
compliment and Complement.
’Compliment’と’Complement’
Do these words have the same meaning?
これらは同じ意味でしょうか？
Let’s try to figure it out.
では二つの違いを見てみましょう。
・Compliment – means to say something good.
・Compliment 『褒め言葉』という意味です。
For example : I am very pleased to have receive so many com pliments on my new dress and shoes today.
例：私は今日新しいワンピースと靴に対するたくさんの褒め言葉をもらってとても満足です。
Or if someone will say [ Wow! I like your new hair style. ]Or [You are so lovely today ]
もし誰かが「わぁ！あなたの新しい髪形いいね。」や「今日とても可愛いね。」言います。
Those sort of things are which we called compliments.
これらが’compliments’です。
Next, Complement – means something added or supplement to complete or make perfect.
次に、Complement 『補完、引き立てるもの』という言う意味です。
Here is an example
例を見てみましょう。
Example : A fine wine is a perfect complement to the dinner.
例：「良いワインはディナーにぴったりの引き立て役だ。」
I need some pepper to complement the sweet touch in the soup.
スープの甘みを引き出すのに少しコショウが必要だ。
That’s complement. Easy right? So that’s the difference between compliment and complement.
これが、complemntです。難しくないでしょ？
So that’s the difference between compliment and complement.
これが’compliment’と’complement’の違いです。
Actually,there are many words that we should learn.
実は、私たちが習うべき同音異義語はたくさんあります。
