3分で理解！『During』『 While』 の正しい使い方！違いは？あなたは正しく使えていますか？
どちらも日本語では『〜の間』と訳され、同じ意味で理解している人も多いかと思います。
意味はその通りで、一緒なのですが使い方にルールがあります。
今回はその解説をしていきますね！

✔︎During / Whileの大きな違いは前置詞か接続詞かどうか
・Duringは前置詞
・Whileは接続詞
ここが大きな違いでありポイントになります。
では１つずつ見ていきましょう。
✔︎During + Noun(名詞)がルール。
これがルールです。Duringの後ろには必ず名詞を置きましょう。
『休暇中にお土産を買った。』
・I bought some souvenirs during my vacation.
ややこしいのですが、本来であれば前置詞の後ろには動名詞が置けます。
しかし例外的に『During』の後ろに動名詞は置けません。
気をつけましょう。
✔︎While + S + V / While + Gerund(動名詞)がルール。
これがルールです。
『休暇中にお土産を買った。』
・I bought some souvenirs, while I was on Vacation.
簡単ですね！
『食事中に電話をする人がいる。』
・Some people were making a call during a dinner.
・Some people were making a call, while we were having a dinner.
・Some people were making a call, while having a dinner.
こんな感じで使い分けができます。
